Commissioning Research

A Joint LARIA/LGA Seminar in London and Manchester
Local Government Association Offices, London – Wednesday 3rd September 2008 or
Manchester Cathedral Visitors Centre, Manchester – Wednesday 24th September 2008

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

How often it is that commissioned research doesn’t really deliver what you had hoped and why is this. Is the contractor or us as clients being unclear or having unrealistic expectations?

WHO IS IT FOR?

This seminar is aimed at those who currently commission research, or plan to in the future. It aims to help you ensure that you have the tools to help you gain research which is timely, effective and value for money.

Using both the perspective of Research Consultancies and the Public Sector practitioner the conference aims to:

  • Identify what makes an effective research brief / invitation to tender
  • How to select the right provider for research services
  • Building a long term relationship with a preferred supplier
  • Managing complex large scale projects
  • The legal & technical aspects of tendering
