comprehensive and effective economic and urban policy advice
to Councillors and senior City Council officers. We have two
posts available, offering talented people the opportunity to
be a key part of this busy team, working on a wide variety
of exciting projects of critical importance to the continued
regeneration and growth of Manchester.
For both posts, you will need an in-depth understanding of
the key drivers that contribute to the competitiveness of cities,
strong knowledge of the broader urban policy context and experience
in policy analysis and development. You will also be a strategic
thinker able to analyse complex issues and assess their implications
for the City Council’s responsibilities.
For the Principal Officer post, you will need excellent communication
skills and be confident in representing Manchester at major
partnership forums such as Core Cities and the Association
of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA), and in working with
senior colleagues from other local and central government bodies.
